Yeah, people really do this. I've seen guys bring girls over from accross the bar (and even more guys try to do it) simply by mouthing the words to whatever hip-hop song. I don't understand what attracts this type of people to one-another, but it works out for everyone else if they are out of the way, I suppose.
Clearly, this comic was written in 2003, when "In Da Club" was peaking. That song was absolutely ubiquitous in any bar, always about 3 songs further in the rotation. Right now I couldn't even tell you what song would take its place. Not a 50 Cent song since he blows, and doesn't even rap anymore. Hopefully it would be a Mike Jones song. I really like "Back Then (Ho's Didn't Want Me)".
