This comic is from very, very early in the strip's run, when I had the liberty to develop characters in whatever direction I wanted. I figured that it would be funny to defy expectations regarding the strip's least developed character, Billy the bathroom penguin, but I figured wrong, the joke that Billy has this complex backstory doesn't really work. Anyway, this set up a series of strips involving Billy registering for classes, and a series of strips that half-heartedly had him attend college like everyone else (if you look at some of the other strips I've posted, there are hints here and there; the most telling one is that he lived in the dorms for a while during the extended storyline where Evil Eric has him evicted.)
