Starting Point Crossover! ...and Stephen Malkmus and the Deluxe (Front Load) Washer / Dryer Set
Um... yeah, so this is a pretty narrowly targeted comic, much like Evan's was yesterday, but I really couldn't resist and had to run it. It works for Mitch Clem, so I figured it couldn't be totally off the table. The basis of the comic is the fact that the former Pavement frontman, who is ridiculously popular with the indie kids, is putting his music in ads. That link takes you to the Tiny Mix Tapes article about it, but you pretty much have to wade through a paragraph to get to this: "Stephen Malkmus had licensed his song from his first solo album for a commercial. The track "Phantasies" is currently being used in a Sears commercial to sell washers and dryers."
I'm sure they'll sell like hotcakes. And why was Kelvin a necessary addition to the comic today? Because This Article "About Malkmus" was largely written about Evan. See if you can find him. Oh, and he rounds out the Malkmus knowledge in Starting Point's blog entry. You should probably go read that.
Oh, and Leif wrote a bitchin Common Concert Review from Osaka, Japan. Go read it and Evan's comic.
The Onion today? Awesome.
T.MixTapes Malkmus CD reviews.
P.Fork Malkmus Reviews.
Oh, and this strip is pretty hilarious. It's called Superslackers, and they're decent, but this specific strip I liked.
